Abstrakt: The article discusses a study which aimed to develop a mechanism of discovering misdirection into the airway of naso/orogastric (NG) tubes before they reach their full depth of placement in critically ill adult patients. Topics covered include the sensitivity and specificity of self-inflating bulb syringe (SIBS) in detecting nonesophageal placement compared with colorimetric detector, the time or difficulty to the insertion process between the two methods, and a comparison on their costs.
