It is shown that the specific surface of carbon nanotubes determines the degree of reinforcement of polymer nanocomposites, i.e., the ratio between the elastic moduli of a nanocomposite and matrix polymer which form a corresponding nanocomposite. The relationship between the fractal dimension of the surface of the carbon nanotubes and the degree of reinforcement is obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
