Abstrakt: The article talks about a study about post-transcriptional regulation of the quiescence in skeletal muscle satellite cells through tristetraprolin mediated mRNA decay. The study also analyses differentially expressed gene transcripts during the activation of satellite cells after muscle injury, and observes that tristetraprolin promotes the decay ofMyoD mRNA, and enables Myod accumulation and cell fusion into myofibers, hence playing a vital role in controlling satellite cell homeostasis.
