Abstrakt: The article presents a research on novel mechanisms to control spine specific actin dynamics through direct palmitoylation of actin regulator LIM Kinase-1 (LIM-1). It states that small hairpin ribo nucleic acid (ShRNA) rescue experiments reveal that LMK-1 polymerization is essential for normal spine actin polymerization for spine specific structural plasticity and long term spine stability. It reports that role of palmitolylation in the spatial control of actin dynamics and kinase signaling.
