The article discusses the efforts to save the sequoia tree in the U.S. as of April 2015. It focuses on the move by the timber company Sierra Pacific Industries to plant sequoia seedlings under its genetic conservation program. Also cited are the effects of the drought on the sequoia trees at the Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park in California and the giant sequoia tree called Mark Twain Tree displayed at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. |
