The article discusses the author's argument that the leadership of the Grand Lodges should expect some of hostility. Topics discussed include a look at the 18th century masonic leaders and the theorists of the movement, an assessment of the political meaning of the enlightened search for social reform that had something to do with religiosity and some questions only freemasons can answer such as whether masonic citizens have a especial responsibility to address social ills. |
