| Abstrakt: | The article examines the experiences of displaced persons (DPs) after the end of World War II in Europe, sometimes known as VE Day. Particular focus is given to DP camps in Germany, where refugees were grouped and housed by nationality and where some Jewish survivors of Nazi concentration camps were mistreated. Other topics include ethnic cleansing, civilian casualties of the war, and the destruction of crops and infrastructure in the war. |
