Elective Tongue Piercing: Fad with Fallout.

Abstrakt: The article reports on a case study which highlights a complication of oral piercing. The patient presented to the dental office one year after having his tongue pierced. Three weeks prior the jewelry was not visible and the patient assumed he had swallowed the jewelry. Thereafter he experienced mild pain and swelling. Manual digital pressure was used from the ventral surface to define the site of piercing and allow removal of the jewelry.
