Abstrakt:	The article focuses on the role of academic chairs and faculty in the management of external program reviews aimed at ascertaining the quality and effectiveness of academic units of colleges and universities. Topics discussed include the function of the chairs as a leaders conversing with faculty prior to the review process, the criteria and process use in selecting the members of the review team, and the necessity of adopting a self-study of the academic units.
