The article explores the measles elimination initiative in the Philippines from 1998-2014, when lower number of cases were reported between 2007 and 2011, but increased slowly before the country experienced an outbreak in 2013-2014. Topics discussed include incidence of measles and viral genotypes behind them, including those behind the 2013-2014 outbreak and the government's draft National Immunization Programme Strategic Plan for 2015-2019. |
