Chiral electronic transitions of YVO4:Eu3+ nanoparticles in cellulose based photonic materials with circularly polarized excitation.

Abstrakt: A novel chiral nematic luminescent film is fabricated by incorporating YVO4:Eu3+ nanoparticles with cellulose nanocrystals. We have shown that these nanoparticles could attach to the surface of twisted nanorods of cellulose, exhibiting electronic transition-based hierarchical chiroptical activity, responsible for strong circularly polarized emission and a high luminescence polarization dissymmetry factor.
