Abstrakt:	An essay is presented wherein the author reflects on her tenure as President of the California Council on Teacher Education (CCTE) from 2012 to 2014. Topics include the unique situation which marked her entry into the presidency, the three areas where she learned a lot about the CCTE such as the impact of long-term investment in CCTE, the unique role of CCTE in California and the strengthening of its organization, and an exploration of current and future staffing models for CCTE.
