Abstrakt: The article examines the regulation of neuronal migration, outgrowth, and intrinsic excitability by the brain-enriched microRNA miR-128. Topics discussed include the implication of miR-128 in the control of neurogenesis and synaptogenesis and the restriction of microRNA accumulation to post-mitotic neurons due to post-transcriptional mechanisms. Overmigration as a result of sponge-mediated inhibition and reduced complexity of dendritic arborization due to premature expression are mentioned.
