An Experiential Account of the Journey of Psychotherapy Training in India.

Abstrakt: Learning psychotherapy under supervision is an exciting but difficult journey. Psychotherapy training in India mostly has often been approached in the context of culture and religion. The present analysis shows similarities between psychotherapy learning in India to what has been reported in psychotherapy training literature globally. It notes that the training of therapist in India adopts the shared philosophy of different models of therapist development. It is concluded that an experiential account from therapists may has potential to offer insight and perspective to the present trainees in their journey. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
