The article offers the author's insights on emergency satellite messaging devices. The author explores the three major satellite constellations and emergency support networks that support each device such as the COSPAS/SARSAT non-profit network, Globalstar for-profit communications network, and the Iridium for-profit communications network. Moreover, he discusses various devices such as the Personal Locator Beacons usually known as PLBs and SEND (Satellite Emergency Notification Devices). |
