The article offers information on the negative symptoms of schizophrenia, contributions of etiological factors to negative symptom presentation and treatment for these symptoms. Topics discussed include negative symptoms as a reduction of emotional responsiveness, motivation and socialization, negative symptom as a result of psychotic processes and a case study of a 32-year-old Hispanic man with a 12-year history of schizophrenia. |
