Abstrakt:	The article focuses on North Dakota farmer Shane Sickler's September 2004 all terrain vehicle (ATV) accident which underscores a rural problem of access to medical treatment. Topics discussed include the shortage of primary care physicians in rural areas of the U.S., the biggest medical challenge in rural areas which is the availability of doctors, and how telemedicine can help in addressing this rural problem.
