Abstrakt: The article discusses research which investigated the determinants of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) knowledge regarding mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) among pregnant women at Tijuana General Hospital in Baja California, Mexico. Researchers evaluated HIV knoweldge in 1,294 prenatal care unit patients and 495 patients from labor and delivery units. They found that patients from both units had poor knowledge regarding HIV MTCT and that prenatal patients were more likely to know about HIV transmission.
