Abstrakt: The article focuses on the pan Africanist antecedents of transnational Black feminism. Topics discussed include important conjunctions between pan-Africanism and feminism, the limits of culturalist analyses of African women's rights, and class/gender systems in feminist analysis. Discursive positions that transnational black feminism occupies according to author Jacqui Alexander are also offered.
