Abstrakt: The authors studied an antianginal effect of the angiotensin-converting enzyme, for which purpose they used Capoten at 75 mg daily over two weeks in 24 patients with stable functional class II-III exertional angina. Capoten was shown to be capable of reducing occurrences of angina attacks as well as intakes of tablets of nitroglycerin for the above attacks to be arrested; besides, it lowers systolic and diastolic arterial pressure, enhances exercise tolerance, increase rate of circular shortening of left ventricular myocardium fibres, decreases total peripheral vascular resistance. In conclusion, apart from antihypertensive and positive inotropic action Capoten has a coranolytic effect.
