Abstrakt: The authors initiated an educational program to teach homecare nurses and aides how to implement and evaluate one creative nursing intervention-reminiscence with clients. Client outcomes resulting from the implementation of reminiscence included increased opportunities for self-expression, enhanced coping abilities, the discovery of significance and continuity of life, and enjoyment. Positive staff outcomes also were achieved. The authors conclude that the implementation of creative nursing interventions can assist nurses to rediscover the art and enjoyment inherent in nursing practice and produce positive client outcomes in the current changing healthcare environment.
