Abstrakt: Jehovah's Witness patients who refuse transfusions have generally not been felt to be candidates for liver transplantation owing to the frequent requirement for blood transfusions during liver transplantation. This is the first report to our knowledge of successful emergent liver transplantation without the use of blood or blood products in a Jehovah's Witness. The surgical and anesthetic strategies employed in achieving a successful outcome are discussed.
