Abstrakt: | Background: Lipomatous tumors of ovarian origin are rare and may arise from overgrowth of metaplastic fat cells in the stroma. Case: A 5-cm, circumscribed, grossly yellow tumor was an incidental finding at the time of hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. The ovarian tumor was composed almost exclusively of benign adipocytes. Small collections of benign sweat glands were present at the periphery of the tumor. Conclusion: This predominantly lipomatous ovarian tumor likely represents a fat-rich solid teratoma. |
