Abstrakt: Although the occurrence of the hyperviscosity syndrome with IgG plasma cell leukemia is unusual, it should be considered in the evaluation of patients with focal neurologic deficit with or without a known malignant paraproteinemia. If serum viscosity is elevated, then emergent plasmapheresis should be considered, as it may reverse the neurologic deficit.
