Lipid metabolism indices were studied in 100 patients with diabetes mellitus of different severity and compensation by means of disk electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel. Hyperlipoproteinemia, more often of the IV type, was revealed in 51% of patients. In decompensated diabetes, mainly types IV and V were found out, which may be regarded as secondary (depending on carbohydrate metabolism disorder) hyperlipoproteinemia. In compensated diabetes, type IV hyperlipoproteinemia was seen, which appears to be primary, not depending on carbohydrate metabolism damage. |
