A pharmacologic loading test with xanthinol nicotinate was used unprecedentedly to detect occlusion of coronary arteries. Complamine was administered intramuscularly in a dose of 7.5 mg per 1 kg of the patient's weight. Twenty-nine patients with coronarographically-confirmed coronary arterial stenosis and twenty patients with cardialgias of non-coronary origin were investigated. Clinical and electrocardiographic criteria were worked out for the assessment of the complamine test results. The sensitivity and specificity of the test were estimated at 93.1 and 98%, respectively. The complamine test is recommended as part of combined screening for stenosed coronary arteries in patients with coronary heart disease. |
