Abstrakt: Echocardiography with visualization of the anterior wall of the right ventricle was performed in 70 (94.6%) out of 74 patients with chronic nonspecific pulmonary diseases. The patients were divided into 3 groups depending on the degree of respiratory failure, clinical picture, and elevation of the systolic pressure in the pulmonary artery. The symptoms of moderate hypertrophy of the right ventricle were found in the first group of patients with stage I respiratory failure. Marked hypertrophy of the right ventricle wall was discovered in the second and third groups of patients with chronic nonspecific pulmonary diseases. The 3rd group patients manifested an increase of the right ventricle cavity.
