Abstrakt: In 55 patients with parkinsonism and 9 patients with Huntington's chorea the lipid spectrum of the serum and erythrocytes was examined by thin-layer chromatography on silica gel. Certain disturbances of the lipid metabolism were revealed both in the patients with parkinsonism and Huntington's chorea. The lipid spectra in patients with the tremulous and the rigid forms of parkinsonism were found to be different, and the depth of the lipid metabolism disturbances depended on the severity of the clinical manifestations. The disturbances of the lipid metabolism in erythrocytes may point to a generalized character of the defect. Participation of biogenic amines in the lipid metabolism pathology in patients with involvement of the paleostriatum system is suggested.
