667 students (boys and girls, aged between 7 and 10) of two primary schools near Milan, Italy, were studied in order to detect blood pressure (B.P.). The aim was to build graphs of percentiles for an Italian Community: they are presented with respect to age, height and weight. The detections have been carried out by the same doctor with the child sitting in a comfortable position; the cuff sizes were 2/3 of the right arm. It is emphasised the strong correlation between obesity and elevated blood pressures. |
