| Abstrakt: | Comprehensive fertility care has been reduced in many parts of the United States following the U.S. Supreme Court decision in June 2022 in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case, which eliminated the constitutional right to abortion. Because of this change, there is an increasing need and desire among many for fertility planning as women want to understand their health, including their reproductive health. This commentary outlines the importance of fertility planning, how fertility planning affects fetal and maternal outcomes, and what people need to know about fertility planning. Guidance is offered on the role of nurses in supporting and advocating for individuals in their desire for fertility planning.
