Vasopressin metabolite, AVP4-9, binding sites in brain: distribution distinct from that of parent peptide.

Abstrakt: Binding sites for the vasopressin metabolite peptide, (AVP4-9), were detected in the rat brain. These binding sites were present in the hilus of the hippocampal formation, superior and inferior colliculus, pontine reticular nuclei, brainstem nuclei, lateral mammillary nucleus, choroid plexus and subfornical organ. The distribution of AVP4-9 binding sites was distinct from that of the parent peptide (1-3). This distinction was apparent in both the regional and intra-regional distribution.
