Abstrakt: | Background: This case report presents a novel solution for treating a perianal abscess in a 45-year-old female patient with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. The patient experienced severe pain, exhaustion, rectal discharge, and fever, and was treated with incision and drainage, followed by Udumbar Ksheer Pichu application and complementary therapy with antibiotic, analgesic, and antihyperglycemic medication. This case illustrates the potential benefits of integrating Ayurvedic principles, such as Udumbar Ksheer Pichu, with conventional medical treatments to effectively manage perianal abscesses in high-risk patients. Objective: To study the efficacy of Udumbar Ksheer pichu in the management of Perianal abscess (Gud Vidradhi). Methodology: The patient underwent an incision and drainage procedure under spinal anesthesia. Post-operative wound care included daily dressing changes with Udumbar Ksheer Pichu, combined with hot water sitz baths and administration of antibiotics, analgesics, and antidiabetic medications. The wound healing progress and overall health were monitored through regular follow-ups and laboratory tests. Results: The wound showed significant improvement, with reduced redness, swelling, and tenderness. By the end of the third week, the wound had healed substantially, with no signs of active infection or discharge. The patient's blood glucose levels were effectively managed, stabilizing within the target range. Pain and discomfort were markedly reduced, and the patient was able to resume normal daily activities with minimal restrictions. There were no signs of recurrence of the perianal abscess during the follow-up period. Conclusion: The administration of Udumbar Ksheer pichu, complemented by antibiotic, analgesic, and antidiabetic management, proved highly effective in resolving the patient's perianal abscess. |
