Abstrakt: We present a genome assembly from an individual male Alexandrinus eques , formerly Psittacula eques (the Mauritius Parakeet; Chordata; Aves; Psittaciformes; Psittacidae). The genome sequence is 1203.8 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 35 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 18.86 kilobases in length.
