Abstrakt: The title compound, poly[bis-(β-alaninium) [[di-bromido-plumbate]-di-μ-di-bromido]] {(C 2 H 8 NO 2 ) 2 [PbBr 4 ]} n or ( β -AlaH) 2 PbBr 4 , crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P 2 1 / n . The (PbBr 4 ) 2- anion is located on a general position and has a two-dimensional polymeric structure. The Pb center is holodirected. The supra-molecular network is mainly based on O-H⋯Br, N-H⋯Br and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
