Abstrakt: Pericardial substitutes have been shown to decrease the formation of pericardial adhesions. For a pericardial substitute to be properly implanted, it must lie over the heart smoothly without buckling and prevent the accumulation of blood under its surface. The technique we describe prevents buckling of the pericardial substitute and consequently reduces the formation of pericardial adhesions.
