Abstrakt: Faced with reduced operating expenses, mosquito control agencies must be able to assess cost-effectiveness of various control techniques using practical and simple procedures. Previous economic literature on this subject is sparse, controversial, and not routinely applicable. This paper proposes and tests methodologies for comparing costs of temporary and permanent control strategies utilizing actual biological and cost data routinely generated by two New Jersey mosquito extermination commissions.
