Abstrakt: Herein we report a chemical synthesis of a pentasaccharide thioglycoside repeating unit of Plesiomonas shigelloides Strain 302-73 (Serotype O1), as a chain extension unit. In our synthetic endeavor we encountered multiple aglycon transfer reactions during glycosylations. This problem was obviated by employing a PMP group as a transient protecting group.
