Abstrakt: Electroencephalography (EEG) signals are often impacted by the cardiac field artefact (CFA), which can compromise EEG analysis. Independent component analysis (ICA) has proven effective in removing such artefacts, including CFA. This paper examines three well-known ICA algorithms commonly utilized in EEG signal processing and assesses their ability to decompose EEG into independent components (ICs) to remove CFA. The paper also investigates whether a new two-level ICA approach can improve performance. Results are evaluated using a synthetic dataset of 10 subjects.
