| Abstrakt: | Description The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has unleashed a global health crisis, precipitating massive efforts aimed at understanding, preventing, preparing for, treating and responding to the novel coronavirus domestically and internationally. Given the profound and ongoing impact of COVID-19, the HCA Healthcare Journal of Medicine organized this special issue of the journal as a mechanism for capturing groundbreaking studies, advances and perspectives that have the potential to shape health and health care for decades to come.
