Abstrakt: Mental health and workplace - What tools are available to primary care physicians to facilitate the return to work for patients with workplace problems? Abstract. Patients with mental disabilities often get into difficulties at work, which can ultimately jeopardize their jobs. In these situations, low-threshold communication between the general practitioner and the employer is of particular importance in order to avoid escalations and loss of employment. The article describes the individual steps of psychosocial assessment by the general practitioner and their interaction with employers and supervisors. In making their recommendations, the authors draw on their many years of experience in training those responsible for return to work.
