Abstrakt: A pulmonary bronchovenous fistula is postulated as the possible cause of cerebral air embolism in a case of left-sided hemiplegia after penetrating chest trauma. The possible mechanisms underlying the clinical picture, the consequences of cerebral air embolism and the management are briefly described.
