Abstrakt: The health situation of indigenous peoples has long been ignored. The health threat affecting them, linked to environmental degradation in general and climate change in particular, has been the subject of recent studies to assess it and consider the actions to be taken. The health crisis of COVID-19 has reinforced both the persistent health fragility of indigenous populations, but also the potential therapeutic potential of using traditional knowledge to address it. Thus, the evolution of States' recognition of the rights of indigenous peoples has raised awareness of the persistent inequalities in health, but it has also revealed that traditional knowledge is an essential lever for enhancing the rights of the peoples concerned as a means of improving their living conditions. Therefore, the integration of traditional therapeutic knowledge into the national health order, as has been done in Australia, not only brings recognition of traditional knowledge, but also improves the protection of the health of indigenous peoples.
