Abstrakt: | Splenomegaly in the context of liver disease is classically associated with advanced cirrhosis and portal hypertension. 1 More recently, we observed an increasing number of patients with splenomegaly and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), but in whom intensive work-up revealed no evidence of advanced liver disease or portal hypertension. In this study, we found no correlation between spleen size and histological stage of NAFLD, and a strong correlation between body weight, height and serum high density lipoprotein (HDL) levels.
