Abstrakt: The authors have studied the mechanisms of action and the results of the use of ethylcloride block (ECB) in 467 hypertensive patients with headaches before and after ECB. A marked analgetic effect was observed in 93.8% of the patients. A myogenic component of pain in the occipital area was verified electromyographically. It has been established that ECB of the sinocarotid zone significantly decreases both regional and total blood pressure.
