Abstrakt: Invasive deep brain stimulation (DBS) has become an established treatment procedure for a number of neurological diseases, especially movement disorders. The number of patients treated with DBS is continuously increasing, the technical development of DBS systems is progressing and new indications are currently being tested in studies. This review gives an overview of the current indications and an outlook on future developments of DBS in movement disorders and psychiatric diseases.
