Abstrakt: Sleep disturbances are frequently observed in patients with substance use disorders during active use as well as in withdrawal period and in remission. However, there is limited information about the association between sleep disturbances and substance use disorders. This review summarizes results of the studies on specific characteristics of sleep disturbances related to alcohol, opioids and psychostimulants (cocaine) use. Data on objective and subjective measurements of sleep characteristics at different stages of the course of an addiction disorder (active use, withdrawal, remission) are presented.
