Abstrakt: Almost all known stress stimuli, including inflammatory agonists, chemotherapeutic agents and saturated fatty acids, cause the synthesis of ceramide and its metabolites. In recent studies, it has been shown that excessive synthesis of ceramides causes the development of various metabolic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Currently, the role of cеramids in the development of obesity and diabetes has been studied quite well. At the same time, studies devoted to the study of lipid data in the development of cardiovascular disease are not large. In this review, we generalize the data on this new class of bioactive lipids for understanding their role in the development of cardiovascular diseases.
