Abstrakt: Forward genetic screen, typically performed in invertebrates or mammalian cell lines, has been instrumental in discovering genes essential for neural function. In this issue of Neuron, Wertz et al. (2020) demonstrate the first viral-mediated, genome-wide screen to identify neuroprotective genes in wild-type and Huntington's disease (HD) mouse brains.
