Abstrakt: Rates of aesculin hydrolysis and inositol fermentation adequately differentiate Klebsielleae from other Enterobacteriaceae. In combination with tests for motility and growth in potassium cyanide medium, presumptive differentiation between Klebsielleae, and confirmation of Klebsiella pneumoniae, is obtained.
