| Abstrakt: | This case report of a 36-year-old man, who had sex with men, illustrates, that early identification and diagnosis of neurosyphilis are crucial. Neurosyphilis, being a rare complication of syphilis, is associated with a high risk of severe neurological symptoms such as cranial nerve dysfunction, acute or chronic altered mental status and auditory abnormalities. Treatment with recommended antibiotic regimens can effectively cure neurosyphilis, though the risk of sequelae remains. |
